Marianne has a PhD in Psychology and is the lead investigator for the 45 & Up Study, which is a large prospective cohortstudymanaged by the Sax Institute. Her research interests are in cancer epidemiology, including modifiable risk factors such as alcohol consumption, physical activity and smoking. She is also involved in a program of work around lung cancer that includes risk prediction tools for lung cancer and cost effectiveness models for lung cancer screening. She is an adjunct senior lecturer in the School of Medicine at Sydney University.
